I would be lying if I said I had great taste in movies. I don't - among my faves are Mary Poppins, Overboard, Private Benjamin and Blue Crush. However, I should add that I LOVE my taste in movies - for me. I am not saying anyone else has to like them - for me a movie can serve a specific purpose. Make you sad, happy, inspired....blah blah blah.
I went to see Burlesque tonight with the lovely Alison. I was a tad ashamed to ask her to join me to see it - after all we haven't known each other long and I was concerned she would judge me (even at 29 I still fear being judged, when will it end?). But, I hedged my bets - she is doing a theatre program so I figured she might want to see it if only for the technical bits perhaps and keep me company.
So Lucas was left at home with a pizza, beers, family guy and his friends who like family guy and off Alison and I went. WOW. What a load of drivel - the acting was amusing - we did snigger loudly at some points, I hope Christina didn't hear me, not so bothered if Cher did. BUT the singy, dancy, showy bits were toe tappingingly delish! I of course have mentally quit my job and am digging out fish nets, sequins and am attempting lasting longer than five minutes in stiletto heels. I came home wanting to throw on some red lipstick and dance around the apartment in my underwear.......however as the lounge is still full of people I decided to pass and google Burlesque clubs in Irvine. After that I might go and sing in the shower.
erm....Speed? Romy and Michele's high school reunion?
